Northern Railway Notified Recruitment for 21 vacancies under Sports quota

Northern Railways invited applications for filling up 21 vacancies – 5 posts under Grade pay Rs. 2800 / 2400 and 16 posts under Grade pay Rs. 2000 / 1900  under sports quota (open advertisement) for its various Divisions /  Work- shops / units. Eligible interested sports persons should send their applications in the prescribed format till 16 September 2013.

Educational Qualifications, Sports Norms  and Division-wise No. of Posts for Associated Grade Pay

Rs. 1900 / 2000	10th / Matriculation / ITI or equivalent	Represented the Country in any of the Category B events / Championships OR secured at least 3rd position in any of the Category C Championships / events OR in Senior / Youth / Junior National Championships OR in National Games organized under the aegis of Indian Olympic Association OR in All India Inter University Championship organized under the aegis of Association of Indian Universities OR 1st position in Federation Cup Championships (Senior).

Age Limit (as on 1 January 2014): Between 18 years and 25 years 

Selection Procedure: Candidates will be considered for appointment on the basis of their performance in trials, and assessment of their sports achievements and general intelligence/ personality etc. 

Candidates found fit after Trials will only be considered for next stage of recruitment process. 
Final selection would depend on selected Sportspersons fulfilling the minimum medical norms for the post, for which he is being appointed.

The recruitment process will be finalized by the respective divisions / workshops / units. 

Candidates will be required to produce all documents in original for verification during Interview, failing which they will not be allowed to appear for the Interview. 

Those posted as Clerk or Sr. Clerk should pass the requisite type writing test within the prescribed period from the date of their appointment.

Selected candidates are liable to be posted anywhere in Northern Railway.

Probation period: Appointed candidates will be on probation for two years.

Examination Fee: Non-refundable Fee has to paid either in the form of  Indian Postal Order drawn in favour of Northern Railway Sports Association, New Delhi  payable at New Delhi.

Grade Pay and Associated Fees to be paid: 

(a) For posts with Grade Pay Rs.2400 and Rs.2800: Rs.60
(b) For posts with Grade Pay  Rs.1900 and Rs.2000: Rs.40

SC / ST / female / Minority (Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists and Zorastrians [Parsis]) / and candidates belonging to Economically Backward Classes (family income less than Rs.50000 per annum) are exempted from payment of fees.

How to Apply: Eligible interested sports persons should send their applications, in the prescribed ,format along with copies of relevant enclosures to ‘The Administrative Officer, Northern Railway Sports Association, Room No 7 (G), Annexe II, Building, Baroda House, New Delhi - 110001’ so as to reach their on or before the prescribed last date. Candidates can also drop the applications in the box kept in the concerned office premises on or before the prescribed last Date.

On the envelope containing the application, candidates should be super-scribe Name of the sports discipline in bold / capital letters.

Candidates should submit only one application for a particular game / discipline.
